1st Mar 2019 – Apart from waking up at 5.30am, today was a good day! Since I stayed at home yesterday, I was keen to get out and about, so off we went to the shops. I managed to find a new dress with sleeves long enough to cover my PICC – YAY! And I got to wear it out tonight for a catch up with my work friends 😍 I had a great night out with everyone, even though I’m fairly certain it was the first time I’ve ever had to order a mocktail! 🍹 Surprisingly I didn’t go to sleep until around midnight so it was a big day for me.

4th Mar 2019 – I was awake every hour from 3am… Not sure why as I thought having an extra drop of oil last night would have helped me sleep longer. I’m slowly coming off the steroid tablets too but noticing that on the days I have them I’m looking pretty squishy in my face! *Photo evidence below* I got my hair cut today by the lovely Lisa and it looks so good 💇‍♀️ Opted for a ‘bob’ so that it’s not such a shock when I have to shave my head and as a bonus it looks cute with the new headband I bought! Next stop – the airport – to pick up my bestie Kristy & her hubby Sam. They flew down to help us surprise Anthony for his birthday! Which we did by having some of our closest friends out for dinner (Aangan – best Indian restaurant) and Anthony had no idea we had organised it! We are so lucky to have such amazing friends! We all had a great night and it made me SO happy to see Anthony happy 💖

5th Mar 2019 – The Peter Mac @ Home nurse came this morning to change my PICC dressing and it was the same nurse I had when I was high in the morning a few weeks ago… The poor lady said she was worried about me last time because I didn’t really talk to her and my BP, HR and temp were all over the place. I apologised to her then explained the situation and she said she was glad that I didn’t “see a snake on her face and try to hit it” 🤣 It’s Anthony’s birthday today so we went to TRAPT escape rooms. We did really well and escaped with about a minute spare! We attempted a 2nd room but we should’ve just finished on a high from the first win *I did have a brownie while we were in the escape room so pun intended!* We went for Anthony’s birthday dinner with our families and I ate a lot (hello munchies!), but we were pretty tuckered out from our big day so didn’t stay out too late. I was very slack and didn’t buy Anthony a present but I did gain weight and given the circumstances he thought that was a pretty awesome gift! Happy Birthday Hubby!

6th Mar 2019 – Had a pretty relaxed day at home after such a busy few days. I had a little bit of cramping and the bruise from my injection is still really sore and swollen a week after having it, which is more frustrating than anything as it’s not even a chemo side effect. My taste buds have definitely dulled and it feels like I’ve burnt my tongue and the roof of my mouth. We walked to dinner/trivia and had a big group this week so had to split into 3 teams and we came 2nd, 3rd & 4th! Our unbeaten trivia streak has come to an end but I’m sure we will be winners again next week! We watched Bohemian Rhapsody at home and everyone may have been a little stoned… 😵
