#22 – Cancer Ninja

16th June 2019 – I had a really lovely day today. Cleaned up the house, did some baking and even a little bit of shopping. We had lunch at Nonna’s house and she made my favourite – chocolate ripple cake – and it was delicious! We did Sound Healing again tonight and it was the first time I’ve really been able to visualise what Chloe wanted us to see 🧘‍♀️ She kept talking about our inner fire and desires and asked us to visualise that. In my mind, that made me the ultimate cancer fighting ninja! My whole body was the fire and I looked like I was kicking and punching the air, but to me it felt like I was literally kicking the cancer away. Chris was next to me during the sound healing and she said she could visualise a lot of green appearing in front of her and then disappearing. She likened it to my PET scan (as it highlights green where the cancer is) and we both decided that I was kicking cancer’s ass and it was disappearing from my body! We had my family over for dinner which was really nice and we got a beautiful framed print for our wedding anniversary tomorrow!

17th June 2019 – Wow, it’s already been one year since our wedding. Happy Anniversary Anthony! What a year it’s been. We spent the day organising things for our new house, playing bananagrams (lots of fun!) and opening a nice bottle of Rioja reserva wine from our honeymoon in Spain. Anthony had told me he didn’t have a gift but then today I was surprised with the most perfect letter. 1st year anniversary is paper so it was the best gift! We went to Texakaya for dinner – a fusion of Japanese and Tex Mex – and it was delicious! My diary today ended with me writing MY HEART IS FULL 💕

Reminiscing about our honeymoon with this Spanish bull!

18th June 2019 – Even though last night’s dinner was delicious, I also had the spiciest thing I’ve ever eaten in my life and paid for it at about 3am 🤦‍♀️ My port was feeling a little bit stingy but I’m still getting used to it. Apart from that I’m feeling good and even managed to clean up the house and do a little bit of work! I was given a beautiful hand knitted beanie today and I absolutely love it! We had dinner at our friend’s new house and gave them what we thought would be a terrible housewarming gift but they actually loved it! 😂 I felt high most of the day but still felt like I’d been productive!

21st June 2019 – I had another productive day in Rye before driving back to Melbourne to get my blood test done. Got a park right out the front of the hospital and when I got to pathology there was no one waiting – winning! I had put numbing cream on my port for them to access as it can hurt a little otherwise. My bloods were taken fairly easily and I was in & out within the hour which is a record!

24th June 2019 – It is freezing today so I got all rugged up to go to Peter Mac for my oncologist appointment. It was my first time seeing Jeanne on my own and I had a million questions from Anthony and mum that I needed to ask. First thing on my list of questions was “What are my cancer markers at?” and I was VERY happy with the results…. 6.6 🤩 To put it in perspective, the highest my markers have been was 1500! So I’m very eager to see them continuing to drop. Jeanne also let me know that because my numbness in my hands and feet is getting worse, we are dropping one of my chemo meds – Oxaliplatin. I’m quite happy about that for a few reasons. One being that it’s my longest infusion time (2hrs) so now chemo days will be a lot shorter but also it’s the one that stopped me from eating, drinking and touching cold things. But the most important thing is that it’s the one that causes hair loss. So YAY for my hair to start growing again! She also mentioned getting a CT Scan as well as a PET scan next month so the liver surgeon can have a clearer view at my liver and be able to see if it’s possible to have surgery (was told at the start of the year that it was inoperable so keeping our 🤞). After my appointment I needed to do a few things so was out and about for most of the day and it was lovely. Today I felt normal again.

My most recent PET scan results. Yay for less and less bright colours and clear shrinkage of my liver!! Next one should be all blue please and thank you 😜
